BRADO

Via E.S.D.V. Footloose it’s possible to register for the competitions organized by BRADO, the BRAbantse Danssport Organisatie. In short, BRADO organizes dance competitions for dance schools in Noord-Brabant and the surroundings.

BRADO competitions are fun and the atmosphere is more informal than the competitive atmosphere at the NADB. There is a special class for participants with a maximum of 30 lessons especially for the dancers of the Bronze and Silver courses (if you do this for the first time). Higher classes are also fun, and Footloose dancers from the Silver, Silver Star and Gold courses have previously participated and entered the semifinals and finals. In short, there is something for everyone and Footloose’s dancers certainly have the level to participate!

What is BRADO?

BRADO is a competition association under the NADB, and currently has 31 dance schools participating, mainly in Noord-Brabant and partly Limburg and Zeeland. Each month (8 to 9 in total) one of the participating schools organizes a competition.

Participation

Each competition consists of 5 classes: Juvenile and 5th to 2nd class. Each participant will be divided into one of these classes at his first participation. This classification is done in consultation with the BRADO organization. The 4th to 2nd class are equal to the debutants 4 to 2 of the NADB. The 5th class is the only class with a restriction, namely a maximum of 15 lessons.

Competitions

The 3 standard latin and ballroom dances are danced on every level. A very similar system is used as in the NTDS. Qualification round → re-run →  (quarter / half) final → final. Depending on the number of participants and your final position you will receive a number of promotion points. When you have received enough of these points, you will be promoted to the next class. Dancers who are promoted from the 2nd class are transferred to the NADB competition in the new ballroom or amateurs C class latin.

Costs

Participation costs € 8.00 per competition (€ 5.00 participation, € 3.00 entrance fee). Visitors only pay the € 3.00 entrance fee. When you only dance BRADO games, it is no longer necessary to buy a start book.

Register

Enrollment is only possible via an affiliated dance school, in our case Footloose. Registration is done by sending a response to the invitation of the association before the deadline of the association, not the deadline of the BRADO!

Clothing

There are no more clothing requirements for the BRADO races. This used to be the case, but has recently been dropped.

Food and drinks

It is allowed to bring your own food. It is not allowed to bring drinks.

Competition dates

The specific dates and times of the competitions, as well as the registration deadline, are announced separately via the website and posters at the dance halls. If you would like more information about the planned matches, take a look at the BRADO website or mail to our BRADO team captain (teamcaptain@esdvfootloose.nl).

NTDS/ETDS

Participating in BRADO competitions can affect your classification at both the NTDS and the ETDS. This depends on the organization. This only applies to couples who dance in the 2nd class.

Regulations

The regulations of the BRADO competition can be found here.

More information can be obtained via email to the competition committee or via the BRADO website.
