Dearest dancer,
Yes!! ESDV Footloose/Project Sputnik got asked back for MomenTUm ’22! We will perform twice at the big bachelor certificate ceremony on Friday, September the 30th 2022 (12.00 and 16.00). Like last year, we will again perform in front of an audience of 3500 people on a catwalk with (hopefully) as many as 50 dancers!
THE STORY
The theme for this year is ENGINEERS OF THE FUTURE! For the choreo we will work with the theme of how we are able to create our lives, our surroundings, and our future. What do we choose to do when we have the endless options and opportunities that engineering gives us. We, as engineers, have a responsibility toward the future generation and the planet. How can we cooperate to build a healthy, sustainable, and safe future? Dive into this choreo in which we explore our imagination to the extremes to find out!
PROFILE
I am looking for dancers who are up for a challenge, like to work in a team of dancers from different styles and backgrounds, to learn a choreography in a short period (4 weeks), are willing to experiment and who are expressive and technical at the same time. Dancers from all styles and levels* are welcome. I am looking for anywhere between 38 and 60 dancers.
THE CHOREOGRAPHY
The choreography will be a combination of urban contemporary, dance theater, and improvisation in your own style. Throughout the rehearsals we will work on creating and learning the choreography as well as some new skills, so don’t worry if you are not familiar with the styles above 🙂
* Although initially, all dancers are welcome, I will check out your technical abilities and potential during the Kick-Off/First Rehearsal, to ensure we will have a crew of dancers that are able to work together, are technically strong and have a creative flowing mind 🙂
Participation in this production is free, I only ask you to show integrity with your registration by promising to finish what you start.
THE REHEARSALS
Please check your schedule before registering, next to the 4 mandatory rehearsals, you are not allowed to miss more than 2 other rehearsals. This is just because it is a very short rehearsal period, and missing 1 rehearsal has a big impact on yourself and the group. If you want to join, but you aren’t available on a date that is mandatory, please contact Sophie!
For the Tuesday/ Friday rehearsal, you can choose one or both of these moments to join us!
* Because MomenTUm is a massive event the final planning isn’t clear yet. I will let you know as soon as I know when the stage rehearsal will take place as well as the start of the run-through.
Please take into account that you’ll need to be present at least 1 hour before each performance.
