Always wanted to dance in a musical?
Well here is your chance.
Doppio is doing a musical and has asked Footloose to dance in it!
Doppio is the theatre association, one of the other associations in Scala. Next year they will do a Musical called Urinetown, if you want to see what its about check this out.
Underneath is a cool video of a dance from the musical performed by others. As you can see and guess, we’ll be doing musical style dancing! It has some similarities with jazz dance and its all about fun energetic moves with which you tell a story. The actors from Doppio will sing and dance at the same time, whereas you will be just dancing (so don’t worry about your singing skills;) ).
During the show you’ll get to perform in multiple dances, so you’ll be on stage a lot and learn a lot of choreos!
The shows will be the weekend from 4-7th of July (does not clash with showcase, don’t worry) and the rehearsal schedule you can find with https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1gJjXXqweQcVSs1ASDO3P1GXs11-VdJrc/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=105882474239977008022&rtpof=true&sd=true. You only need to be there for the “Dansrepetitie”, so its only one evening once a month.
A basis in modern, jazz or hiphop is advised since we’ll be learning quite a lot of choreos. If you are not sure you can do it, you can always text me (Celine from the board) personally, take into account most Doppio members do not have a background in dance so don’t worry too much about it. You don’t need to be super good or a pro, its about performing together and having fun!
