We welcome you on our stage … … .

ESDV Footloose Board

The board of ESDV Footloose spends long hours every day and every week making sure the association is running as smoothly as possible and that all dance classes can continue every week. A position which requires a lot of energy and little sleep. That’s why they deserved a nice vacation!

The board went to the Ardennes for their board vacation, where they visited places like Malmedy, Verviers and Visé. There, they went on a beautiful hike and enjoyed the time in their small vacation home a lot. They also went to different restaurants to eat their lunch, since it wasn’t possible to do that yet in the Netherlands at that time.

The idea to go on a board trip came from the enjoyment they had in the first board activity they did as kandies back then, which was a sleepover at Nicole’s place after the first board suit fitting. After that, they just knew they had to do something like this again. And…the previous board recommended doing board activities together as well.

During their holiday, they made lots of different moments, such as going on the hike, eating together, colouring their hair together and spending the evenings together at the Airbnb.

One memory that will forever stand out (according to the board) was when Nicole threw her beer all over herself during Secret Hitler, a game they played one evening. They said it wasn’t that funny in the moment, but Nicole just wanted to record herself tasting a new beer. Which is why they have the whole moment of disaster on camera, which turned out really funny.

“It wasn’t as funny at the time “

Even before the trip, the board felt very close with one another. However, the board trip got them even closer on a personal level. They feel like they understand each other so much better now. They say it’s a really nice feeling, and a very important one now that they are working together so much.

Lastly, they said they could get their minds of some board-related tasks and instead talk about more personal matters and experiences they have had.

And, as the board told us: “There may also have been some gossip-sessions ;)”.

All in all it was a successful trip, considering all the wonderful stories we heard! Thank you so much for sharing your story.
